  3. We’ve all heard of Netflix – the media streaming service has around 118 million subscribers, and for Q1 of 2018 they posted a 42% increase in revenue from last year. One of the reasons behind these impressive numbers is that Netflix is a multi-channel success story. That is evidenced by the fact that although 70% of sign ups happen on mobile and desktop computer, 70% of total viewing then happens on TVs. In other words, users of Netflix engage with the platform on a variety of devices, so the transitions between these need to be seamless in order to deliver a truly multi-channel experience.

  5. The term digital transformation is increasingly creeping into the boardrooms of businesses both big and small. Finally, there is a realization at the top of many organizations that digital has genuinely changed the world and that business as usual is no longer an option.

    Unfortunately, few executives understand either the nature of digital or how it has changed things. Worse still they are not turning to us, as digital experts, for the answers. In this post, I want to encourage you to embrace the new boardroom buzzword and move from digital implementor to digital transformation advocate.

  8. Now if a user says “Hey Google, video call Mom,” up pops Google Duo — as long as the app is installed.

    Google Duo, first announced in 2016, is a video chat app — much like Apple’s FaceTime — however, it’s available for both Android and iOS. It has a few features that can’t be found on its rival’s app, such as the ability to leave video messages rather than voicemails, preview the caller’s live camera before answering and it’s also not necessary for both parties to have the app.

  10. Uber is planning to tweak the historical pick-up and drop-off logs that drivers can see in order to slightly obscure the exact location, rather than planting an exact pin in it (as now). The idea is to provide a modicum more privacy for users while still providing drivers with what look set to be remain highly detailed trip logs.
