  5. Running a restaurant in today’s digital world can be a daunting task, even for the most seasoned restaurant owner. The explosive growth of social media and smartphones allows your target audience to see and criticize your every move. Yelp certainly doesn’t help matters by allowing everyone – particularly millennials – the opportunity to shred your business without any validation because they didn’t have a “DopeAF” time. Operating a restaurant has become as much about playing defense as it is about providing great food and atmosphere. This is why a savvy digital marketing strategy is critical to increasing revenue.

  6. We all know that digital marketing moves fast, and because of that, there’s a tendency to always look towards the next best thing and focus less on the lessons of the past. But developing an awareness and understanding of past mistakes is one of the best ways to pave a path to future success.

  7. While digital transformation is predominantly used in a business context, it also impacts other organizations such as governments, public sector agencies and organizations which are involved in tackling societal challenges such as pollution and aging populations by leveraging one or more of these existing and emerging technologies. In some countries, such as Japan, digital transformation even aims to impact all aspects of life with the country’s Society 5.0 initiative, which goes far beyond the limited Industry 4.0 vision in other countries.

  8. Inextricably entwined with the state of Big Data—that growing corpus of multidimensional information made larger each day via cheap sensors, cheap storage, and user-generated content—content analytics and its ability to pull actionable insights from digital content has never been under more pressure to perform. After all, having the highest volume of structured and unstructured data has never been the point; it’s whether sound business decisions can be made with that content that matters.

  9. Social media marketing has become part of virtually every integrated marketing approach and it’s almost impossible to imagine a content marketing strategy without a social content marketing component (commonly known as ‘social content distribution’ these days). Due to changing ‘rules’ over the years, paid social has increased its share and organic social efforts gradually lost impact.

  10. You’ll need to consider and control many factors if you want your digital marketing strategy to be successful. Your branding efforts, the types of campaigns you choose, the amount you invest, and how you stitch those campaigns together all matter—but you may not realize how much the advancement of your tech plays a role in your success.
