It could be the best work you’ve ever created, but when you show it to your team or client, they don’t quite have the same opinion. That’s the added challenge to design work. Even in a room full of veteran designers, context, experience, and opinions will differ because design is subjective. Before your career is over, no doubt you’ll have a moment where you look at a pile of feedback and think, “I should have gone into accounting, where there’s only one answer.”

We’ve all heard of Netflix – the media streaming service has around 118 million subscribers, and for Q1 of 2018 they posted a 42% increase in revenue from last year. One of the reasons behind these impressive numbers is that Netflix is a multi-channel success story. That is evidenced by the fact that although 70% of sign ups happen on mobile and desktop computer, 70% of total viewing then happens on TVs. In other words, users of Netflix engage with the platform on a variety of devices, so the transitions between these need to be seamless in order to deliver a truly multi-channel experience.

There are three core segments in e-commerce: marketplace, payments, and logistics. Of the three, payment is the most sensitive segment for the obvious reason that it handles your customer’s money and therefore, by extension, affects your bottom line.
With that in mind, how do you figure out the types of payments you should accept and how to integrate that into your new online store? What kind of security would you need? And what about compliance with local regulations and standards?

It takes a lot for a new customer to become a customer these days.
Very few customers discover a company, find a product they need, and decide to purchase all in the same day -- instead, they take many steps, over the course of days, weeks, or even months to make a purchase and start using a product.
The complex process of winning over customers requires strategy and commitment. That's why sales and marketing funnels and buyer's journeys were created -- to divide and conquer each little step that goes into converting a potential customer into a returning one.

When you're putting your heart and soul into designing, building, or improving a piece of software, tuning in to feedback from users can sometimes get you down. Imagine waking up one morning and finding your project is being mentioned on Twitter in a slew of bad messages...

The challenge is giving negative performance feedback when the Recipient gets defensive. But what about the opposite problem, where you have a person who seems totally receptive to the feedback but then doesn’t act upon it? One manager recently admitted to me that her team readily consents to changes or suggestions this manager makes, but then nothing actually happens.
How do you deal with a feedback Recipient who agrees to change but doesn’t follow-through? Here are five questions to help ensure you’re giving feedback the produces results, not empty promises:

We’ve all heard that writing according to the company style guide is good for customers because it creates brand voice consistency. But does that still apply when customers are looking for help? When it comes to self-service, the brand voice can often be tone deaf. It may be time to trade in the traditional brand voice for a more adaptive, empathetic approach to communication that puts the customer’s language and style, not your brand’s, at the center.

It might seem like a good idea to use email to resolve customer issues or to simply solve customer issues wherever they find you. It’s simple. It’s cost-saving. But you know what else it is? Messy and risky. Messy, because your communications with customers are all over the place. There’s not a single, unified platform to manage your customers. Risky, because you can easily overlook customers’ messages from email. While it may be unintentional, you are more likely to neglect your customer issues and lose them, which isn’t exactly good for business. Enter customer service software.

You can almost set your watch to it. Yesterday, in the heat of an upfronts season in which TV stalwarts are taking pots at digital media, Facebook announced its 10th measurement error since September. Per usual, Facebook’s mistake elicited demands from ad buyers for more third-party verification on the platform. And the collective effective of the errors is getting on buyers’ nerves.
“There is a general sense of ‘what could be next,’” said Jessica Baum, media director at Traction. “Even though the last error was smaller in scope, it still impacts overall trust.”
Facebook’s latest error stems from a bug that led it to miscalculate how often users clicked through its carousel ad units, which let brands show multiple images and link to their properties. Facebook declined interview requests for this story....

The digital age has brought with it a horde of data. And coming from various sources and in large quantities, the availability of this data has created many new and insightful opportunities for digital marketers. Modern digital marketers are using data in a myriad of ways, such as gauging success (with Key Performance Indicators, or KPIs), driving improvement (e.g. campaign effectiveness or website usability) and boosting lead generation. However, this heavy reliance on intelligent marketing data necessitates an analysis solution, which comes in the form of dashboarding software.
