  1. There are three core segments in e-commerce: marketplace, payments, and logistics. Of the three, payment is the most sensitive segment for the obvious reason that it handles your customer’s money and therefore, by extension, affects your bottom line.

With that in mind, how do you figure out the types of payments you should accept and how to integrate that into your new online store? What kind of security would you need? And what about compliance with local regulations and standards?

  2. It’s no secret healthcare has improved with technology. I can schedule an appointment with my doctor, view my medical record, and fill a prescription all from an app on my phone. Robotics has changed the way surgery is completed. Human organs are being printed using 3D printers. However, with all these amazing steps towards healthcare of the future, we are missing one important factor: digital user experience.

  3. A lot has changed in the 30-plus years since author Donald A. Norman aired that grievance in his seminal 1988 text The Design of Everyday Things. These days, the user is king — and any product development team that prioritizes programmers’ desires over user experience (UX) won’t be a working product team for very long.

But building an intuitive app or website that truly accommodates user needs and behaviors requires ample know-how: there’s extensive user research and testing, then mocking up and wireframing designs based on that input, elevating those designs into high-fidelity prototypes and finally handing them off to developers as seamlessly as possible.

There are some great examples of digital transformation already happening in industries that aren’t typically digital-first. In this article, we’ll look at some of these examples.
