  1. The ecommerce industry has experienced a tremendous amount of growth in the past decade. Having jumped from 3.5% of all retail sales in 2008 to nearly 11.9% in 2018, this growth – in combination with a (still) relatively low market share – represents a huge opportunity for more innovative ecommerce companies looking to overtake their traditional counterparts.

However, in order to latch on to the ‘growth train’, these same ecommerce companies (and therefore, ecommerce managers) are going to have to put their best foot forward. In other words, they’ll need to be sure that they are providing a first-rate online customer experience. And the best way to do this is to start listening to the voice of the customer. After all, your customers can be your best resource in terms of understanding what you’re doing wrong (or right!) on your website or mobile app. So allow me to introduce you to online feedback…

  2. As we approach Christmas, the festive shopping season is moving into top gear. Big retail adverts are hitting the screen, with UK companies spending an estimated £6 billion to reach shoppers as they fight to differentiate themselves from competitors. It is likely that consumers will be more careful in their spending, with rising prices and inflation leading to overall retail sales falling year on year between September 2016 and 2017. Predictions are that Britons will spend just 1.3% more than in 2016 – with sales increasingly concentrated through online or bigger retailers.

  3. Today, retailers must accommodate a wide variety of customer demands: customers who “pre-shop” for merchandise online before they ever enter a store, customers who want one-day or even same-day delivery, and customers who want more personalization, a larger assortment, a more fulfilling experience and non-stop entertainment, according to a new report from BRP. Customer-led demand is driving retailers to transform their business to be more customer-centric.

  4. With the passing of time, a lot of retailers have started to experiment with the latest technology. Although, we know that technology is really important to any retail organization, and retailers are doing their best to serve their customers. On this journey of customer satisfaction, retailers work towards implementing the ideas and also ensure that the entire process is seamless. Over the years, customers have become connected to their favourite brands in a way that was never seen before. One of the most common ways is by interacting with them on the various social media platforms where the brands educate and provide relevant information to the consumers.

  5. Expresso Fashion and Claudia Sträter are two well-known Dutch fashion brands with stores in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. Alongside their more traditional, brick-and-mortar shops, these labels are also sold online. This omni-channel strategy makes it possible for these two webshops to not only serve as sales channels but also platforms for inspiration. Visitors can get their inspiration online and then choose to do their shopping in the webshop or in-store. In other words, their online services are critical to the success of both on- and offline channels.

Let’s take a look at how they’ve experienced the Mopinion software thus far…

  8. Collecting feedback from your shoppers and customers allows you to better cater to their needs, preferences and values, and a few rather unorthodox questions can provide the information needed to direct your attention to a plethora of possible solutions.

Customer feedback surveys are a little boring, but they’re important. If you don’t know what people think, then you have no real way to gauge how well you’re doing. If you aspire to innovate and grow, these surveys can give you the information you need to make those changes happen. Asking a few unorthodox questions can open your eyes to even broader possibilities.
